Plant-Based Pantry Staples

Vegan Chicken Broth Base

This vegan chicken broth seasoning is one of my favorite pantry staples for adding rich, savory flavor to plant-based meals. I use it in soups, stews, rice, beans, vegetables, gravies, and sauces whenever a recipe calls for chicken-style broth. I also use it to season tofu and fried oyster mushrooms to give them a delicious chicken-style flavor.

Nori Fume Furikake is one of my favorite seasonings for adding a savory, ocean-inspired flavor to plant-based dishes. I use it in recipes whenever I want a subtle fish-like taste, making it perfect for vegan sushi, tofu dishes, rice bowls, salads, and other seafood-inspired meals. A sprinkle adds incredible depth of flavor.

Hemp Hearts

Hemp hearts are one of my favorite ways to add extra plant-based protein and healthy fats to everyday meals. I sprinkle them over oatmeal, salads, smoothie bowls, yogurt, vegetables, and even popcorn for a mild, nutty flavor and a simple nutritional boost. They are easy to use and a staple in my pantry.

Black Salt

Black salt (Kala Namak) is one of my favorite seasonings for adding an egg-like flavor to plant-based dishes. I use it in tofu scrambles, vegan egg salad, breakfast wraps, and other recipes whenever I want that classic savory taste. A little goes a long way, making it a must-have pantry staple for plant-based cooking.

Soy Curls

Soy curls are one of my favorite plant-based protein options because they're incredibly versatile and easy to prepare. I use them to make everything from stir-fries and fajitas to sandwiches, soups, and hearty comfort meals. They absorb marinades and seasonings beautifully, making them a delicious chicken-style substitute in many of my recipes.

Takii Umami Powder

This is one of my absolute favorite seasonings, and I hope it never goes out of stock! Made from shiitake mushrooms, this umami powder adds an incredible savory depth of flavor to almost any meal. I use it in soups, sauces, grains, vegetables, tofu, mushrooms, beans, and many of my plant-based dishes whenever they need an extra boost of flavor.

Zero Salt Roasted Garlic Bouillon

This has become one of my favorite low-sodium flavor boosters, and I've only been able to find it on Amazon. I use it to add rich roasted garlic flavor to soups, sauces, gravies, rice, beans, vegetables, and many of my plant-based recipes without adding extra salt. It's a simple pantry staple that helps build delicious flavor from the start.

Vanilla Bean Paste

This vanilla bean paste adds rich, authentic vanilla flavor to both baked goods and homemade treats. I use it in oatmeal, smoothies, chia pudding, desserts, pancakes, muffins, and other recipes whenever I want a deeper vanilla flavor. The real vanilla bean seeds give every dish a gourmet touch that's hard to beat.

Nutritional Yeast

Nutritional yeast is one of my staple pantry items and an absolute must-have in my kitchen. I use it almost daily to add a rich, cheesy, savory flavor to sauces, soups, vegetables, popcorn, tofu, and many of my favorite plant-based recipes. It's fortified with vitamin B12, making it a flavorful and nutritious addition to a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle.

Vital Wheat Gluten

Vital wheat gluten is a must-have when I want to add more protein to homemade bread and plant-based meals. I use it to make seitan, which can be seasoned and prepared in many different ways as a hearty meat alternative. It also helps improve the texture and structure of homemade breads, making it a versatile staple in my pantry.

Wellness Essentials

Oil of Oregano

These plant-based softgels combine oil of oregano with black seed oil in one convenient supplement. I like that they are easy to add to a daily wellness routine without having to measure liquid oils. As with any supplement, it’s important to follow the label directions and speak with a healthcare professional if you take medications or have a medical condition.

Spirulina Powder

Spirulina powder is an easy way to add extra plant-based protein and nutrients to my wellness routine. I blend a small amount into smoothies, juices, and smoothie bowls, or mix it into other recipes when I want a nutritional boost. This large container provides plenty of servings and is easy to scoop without making a mess.

Chamomile Tea

Chamomile tea is one of my favorite herbal teas to enjoy when it's time to slow down and unwind. I love sipping a warm cup in the evening as part of my nighttime routine or anytime I want a calming, caffeine-free beverage. Keeping a box in my pantry is a simple way to support moments of relaxation and self-care.

Soursop Leaves

These dried soursop leaves are perfect for preparing a warm, earthy herbal tea. I like steeping the leaves in hot water and enjoying the tea as part of a quiet, relaxing wellness routine. The large vacuum-sealed bag helps preserve freshness and provides plenty of leaves for regular use.
